Abstract:
The keyboard instruments which differ greatly in
structure such as organ, clavichord, harpsichord and piano have evolved
throughout history and their fingerings have changed in parallel with the
instruments, and thus have become an integral part of the technique and music.
Within the process, the approach to the fingering and notation of fingerings has
changed continuously due to the development of the repertoire. Although this
change can be followed chronologically in general terms, it can also be observed
that different finger rules are adopted in a period. Fingering is not only a
field that provides technical solutions, but it also directly affects
articulation and phrasing. In this study, in order to perform the works in a
way that coincides with the period they were written in, all the different
fingering approaches from the non-legato to the legato style are given.
