It is a contribution to the rational use of raw materials in ceramic production by examining the inclusion of
different components with inorganic properties in ceramic mud, which is the main material of industrial and
artistic ceramic production, apart from traditional clay minerals, quartz and feldspar. Tuffs are classified
depending on the content of volcanic rocks. rhyolite; It is a collective term for silicic volcanic rocks with a high
silica content, the chemical composition of granite. “Çan stone” in the rhyolitic tuff group is used in indoor and
outdoor landscape applications in the building sector due to its aesthetic appearance in different colors and
patterns and its ease of processing. In this study; For an environmentalist approach and sustainability, the end-
of-production waste of Çan stone, a natural rhyolitic tuff, was used as a raw material component in standard
stoneware mud recipes, and the effects of this component on the physical and mineralogical properties of fired
ceramic bodies were investigated.
