Özet:

The aim of this study is to investigate how technology can be effectively integrated into the science teaching and learning process. Practical action research was employed during the study. The participants consisted of eight seventh-grade students, aged between 13 and 14, selected using a purposeful sampling method. The study was carried out in the first semester of the 2023–2024 academic year. Science lessons were conducted over three weeks utilizing various technological tools, including interactive videos, animations, simulations, and educational games. Data collection instruments included reflection journals, observation field notes and protocols, questionnaires, focus-group interviews, validity committee meeting records, and lesson plans. The collected data were analyzed using both descriptive and inductive thematic analysis. The findings revealed several challenges encountered, including time constraints, techno-centric distractions, excessive technology integration, and issues with mouse and cursor speed. Strategies such as developing technology integration timelines, selecting and integrating challenging simulation tasks, and aligning tools with instructional objectives were implemented to address these challenges. The findings showed an enhancement in the students' learning experiences with technological tools, fostering understanding, engagement, collaboration, and hands-on learning. The students expressed enthusiasm for these tools, recognizing their effectiveness in promoting comprehension and enjoyment of scientific concepts.
