Abstract

Materials in nanodimensions such as magnetic nanoparticles exibit fascinating physico-chemical features (i.e. high surface area, very small size, superparamagnetism, active surface which can be successfully functionalized, low toxicity, etc). Because of these superior features, functionalized magnetic nanoparticles received increasing attention for tremendous amount of studies over the last years and a number of successful applications were published. This paper aims to present and highlight the latest progresses in the development of novel functionalized magnetic nanoparticles for the extraction and chromatographic applications.
