Abstract

Osyris alba L. (Santalaceae) was subjected to headspace-solid phase microextraction (HS-SPME) and subsequent GC-MS analysis due to the strong fragrance of volatiles emitted by the freshly collected flowering branches. SPME with polydimethylsiloxane/divinylbenzene (PDMS/DVB) fibre resulted in the identification of 13 hexyl and hexenyl derivatives with a fruity, pear-type, leafy green odour.
