Abstract

Nucleophilic substitution reactions of N4P4Cl8, with di-, tri-, and tetra-functional reagents such as N-methyl-1,3-propanediamine, N,N'-methyl-1,3-propanediamine, spermidine and spermine were investigated in this study. Six novel products were isolated whose structures have been characterized by elemental analysis, mass spectrometry, H-1 and P-31 NMR spectroscopy. The structure of (11) was investigated by X-ray crystallography.
