Abstract
The composition of essential oil obtained from the aerial parts of Russian knapweed [Acroptilon repens (L.) DC.] (Asteraceae) was analyzed by GC and GC-MS. Seventy-two components were identified in the essential oil of Acroptilon repens (L.) DC. Major constituents of the essential oil were alpha-copaene (22.8%), ss-caryophyllene (9.5%), germacrene D (9.0%), ss-cubebene (7.9%) and caryophyllene oxide (6.4%).
