Artificial intelligence (AI) promises to transform not only how students learn but also what knowledge, skills, and attitudes education systems must prioritize. Building on this perspective, the EcoAI EduNetwork Initiative (EAIEN) addresses a critical gap in current debates, which often remain limited to integrating AI tools into classrooms or teaching AI literacy in isolation. Instead, EAIEN proposes a comprehensive approach that aligns AI-driven methodologies with the urgent need for green skills education, in line with European Union and OECD priorities. The primary objective of the project is to establish a robust green skills education ecosystem through a dynamic Open Educational Resources (OER) hub. This hub leverages AI technologies to design innovative teaching practices, adaptable learning pathways, and engaging resources that empower both teachers and students. By embedding AI not only as a tool but also as a driver of curriculum transformation, EAIEN introduces a forward-looking model for integrating sustainability and digital competence at the core of secondary education. This paper presents the conceptual framework, design principles, and expected impact of the EAIEN project. It argues that combining AI literacy with green skills is essential for preparing future generations to address societal challenges, thereby responding to a fundamental question: not only how education should integrate AI, but how AI reshapes what education should prioritize.
