Abstract
GC and GC/MS analysis of the essential oils of leaves, spikes, flowering leafy branches and woody stems of Dorystoechas hastata were conducted. Forty-seven compounds representing 87–98% of the oil were identified. Oil compositions varied according to the mode of distillation, plant part and collection site. Major components included 1, 8-cineole, α-pinene, borneol, guaiol and camphor.
