Abstract
Effective communication relies on the 5W1H framework: what, who, where, when, why, and how. Each component is crucial for accurate diagnoses and effective treatment. This chapter examines barriers to effective communication between physicians and patients, structured around the 5W1H framework. It covers factors such as physical and psychological obstacles, linguistic and cultural differences, and highlights the significance of trust and empathy for achieving positive health outcomes. Practical solutions, including tailoring communication to individual needs, managing time efficiently, and using feedback, are offered to help healthcare providers enhance their communication skills.
