The Adaptation of the Irrational Beliefs Scale to High School Students: Validity and Reliability Studies This study was undertaken to adapt the Irrational Beliefs Scale (IBS; Türküm, 2003), which was originally developed for university students, for high school students. The Irrational Beliefs Scale-Adolescent form (IBS-A) contained 16 items. The results of the reliability studies of IBS-A were found as Cronbach Alpha coefficiency (.70), and Split-half correlation coeffwiency (.69). The results of factor analysis showed that IBS-A was accounted for 57.16% of the variance. The studies of concurrent validity were completed by using Dysfunctional Attitude Scale (.47, p<.01) and Automatic Thoughts Questionnaire (.85, p< .05). The findings indicated that IBS-A is a valid and reliable instrument that can be used in studies in the field of psychological guidance and counseling.
Bu çalışma, üniversite öğrencileri için geliştirilmiş olan Akılcı Olmayan İnanç Ölçeği 'nin (AOtÖ; Türküm, 2003) lise öğrencilerine uyarlanmasını içermektedir. Akılcı Olmayan İnanç Ölçeği-Ergen Formu (AOİÖ-E) 16 maddeden oluşmaktadır. Ölçeğin Cronbach Alpha içtutarlık katsayısı (. 70) ve iki yarı-test korelasyonu (.69) olarak bulunmuştur. Faktör analizi bulguları AOlÖ- E'nin toplam varyansın % 51.30 'unu açıkladığını göstermektedir. Ölçeğin uyum geçerliği, Fonksiyonel Olmayan Tutumlar Ölçeği (.47, p<.01) ve Otomatik Düşünceler Ölçeği (.85, p< .05) kullanılarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bulgular, AOlÖ-E'nin psikolojik danışma ve rehberlik alanındaki araştırmalarda kullanılabilir geçerli ve güvenilir bir araç olduğunu yansıtmaktadır.
