Yoksulluğun nasıl yaşandığı kaynakları, boyutları, yoksullukla başa çıkma stratejileri ve yoksullukla mücadeleye
ilişkin alınacak önlemler, toplumsal cinsiyetle yakından ilişkilidir. Kadınlar
ve erkeklerin bir toplumdaki farklı cinsiyet rolleri,
sahip oldukları hakların
ve kaynaklara erişimlerinin kadın aleyhine farklılaşması, yoksulluk sorununun incelenmesinde kadın yoksulluğunun tek başına analiz
edilmesini gerekli kılmaktadır. Bu nedenle, bu bölümde genel kap-samda yoksulluğun gelişimine, çeşitlerine, nedenlerine; yoksullukla mücadele eden kurumlara ve yaklaşımlarına, kadın yoksulluğunun nedenlerine ve Dünya’daki ve Türkiye’deki kadın yoksulluğunun verilerine ve gelecek tahminlerine yer verilmiştir.
The ways in which poverty is experienced, its sources, dimensions, strategies for coping with poverty, and measures to combat poverty are closely related to gender. The different gender roles of women and men in a society, and the disparity in rights and access to resources to the disadvantage of women, necessitate the analysis of women's poverty separately when examining the problem of poverty. Therefore, this section provides a general overview of the development, types, and causes of poverty; institutions and approaches to combating poverty; the causes of women's poverty; and data and future predictions regarding women's poverty in the world and in Turkey.
