Abstract

The aviation industry is responsible for approximately 2% of the total anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions. And it is expected to experience a four to six-fold growth by 2050 (Gonzalez-Garay et al., 2022). Achieving sustainable aviation carbon reduction has become more important. At that point, alternative fuels were put forward. In that context, the purpose of the study is to prioritize alternative fuels in aviation. In this study, the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) has been used to prioritize alternative fuels in sustainable aviation. Results show that biofuels are the most important alternative among the three, namely, synthetic fuel and hydrogen.
