Özet

This study aims to evaluate T & uuml;rkiye's performance in the green economy within the framework of the European Green Deal. T & uuml;rkiye's green economy performance was assessed using a Green Economy Progress (GEP) index developed through the Green Economy Measurement Framework. The study examines the progress in the green economy's environmental, social, and economic dimensions to determine T & uuml;rkiye's readiness to transition to a sustainable economy. The dataset utilised in this study comprises 13 green economy indicators spanning from 2011 to 2020. The findings demonstrate that T & uuml;rkiye is indeed progressing towards a greener economy. However, the rate of progress falls short in terms of meeting the criteria set by the European Green Deal. Notably, the high greenhouse gas emissions present substantial challenges for T & uuml;rkiye .
