Abstract

Stachys L. (Delicay) (Lamiaceae) is presented in Turkey by 89 species. 46 species are endemic in Turkey. Stachys megalodonta Hausskn. & Bornm. ex P. H. Davis subsp. mardinensis R. Bhattacharjee is locally known as "gevrek delicay". Stachys spp. are aromatic perennial subshrubs used as spices or herbal teas in the Turkish folk medicine.
