Abstract
The present article focuses on the prosopography and administration of the Eastern border of Byzantium, and particularly the thema of the Armeniakoi, as well as on the so-called Armeni(a)ka Themata (fig. 1). The authors publish, for the first time, fifteen lead seals and republish another specimen, from collections of Museums in Germany and Turkey. Six of these specimens are kept in the Çorum Museum, four in the Amasya Museum, four in the Staatliche Münzsammlung München, and two in the Museum of Anatolian Civilisations in Ankara. The first thirteen seals are presented in chronological order in the main article, while the other three specimens are presented in the Appendix.
