Water-distilled essential oil of Origanum laevigatum collected in Turkey was analyzed by GC and GC/MS. Thirty-two components were characterized representing 90.72% of the total components detected. Bicyclogermacrene (37.92%), germacrene D (21.72%) and β-caryophyllene (4.50%) were identified as major constituents. © 1996, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC. All rights reserved.
