Özet

Carbon dots (CDs) have been recognized widely among nanomaterials family as eco-friendly materials for application development in different fields up to now. Nonetheless, their toxicity is a preoccupying concern. This abstract, in a nutshell, sketches out the toxicity issues relating to eco-friendly CDs such as their production, features and eventually impacts they could have on all living organisms and the environment at large. Generally, the environmentally-friendly CDs provide great prospects, taking into account the fact that their safety and sustainability need a comprehensive scrutiny and reduction of the toxicity during their application.
