Abstract

Pulegone is a monoterpene ketone with arefreshing odor reminescent of mint. This is thereason why pulegone-rich oils containing plants are often named in Turkish after mint. Six Labiatae genera(Le., Acinos, Calamintha, Cyclotrichium,Mentha, Micmmeria and Ziztphora) have been found to contain pulegone as a major constituent intheir respective oils. This study covers the oilcompositions of pulegone-rich Labiatae species growing wild in Turkey. © 1998, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC. All rights reserved.
