The essential oil was obtained by water distillation from the air-dried aerial parts of Echinophora tenuifolia L. subsp. sibthorpiana (Guss.) Tutin. The oil was analyzed by GC and GC/MS. Among the 32 compounds identified, the major components were α-phellandrene (51.52%), methyl eugenol (17.46%) and p-cymene (14.66%). © 1994 Allured Publishing Corp.
