Özet

In this study, firstly, bibliometric studies in literature were evaluated to answer question of "What is general trend of public administration studies in Turkey?". Then, as a sample, 850 articles published between 1990-2019 in the Journal of Public Administration (AID), a well-established journal being indexed in SSCI since 2007, was examined by content analysis in context of "what" (research themes), "how" (methods) and "who" (authors) questions. Obtained data was divided into 3 periods by 10 years and classified bibliometrically. The relationship between bibliometric indicators and different periods was tested by chi-square method. Consequently, it was observed that current situation of public administration articles in Turkey are not in a sufficient level in terms of scientific merit and contributions to field compared to western countries, and recommendations are provided in consideration of obtained findings.
