Opinions of Academic Staff about the Curriculum Implemented in the Departments of Painting

Özet
The aim of this research is to determine academic staff opinions about curriculum which is implemented at the faculty of fine arts, departments of painting which were founded in 2005. The basic elements of the curriculum, objectives (aims), content, educational process (teaching and learning), and measurement-assessment were analyzed to find out the opinions about the curriculum. The research data were obtained from academic staff (N=27) from the departments of painting. The data collected from questionnaires was analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) 15.0 using frequency (f) and percentages (%) for each item. The results indicate that the objective and contents of studio courses are sufficient but theoretical courses and elective courses are not sufficient. Another finding obtained in the research is that the modern educational technologies and museums are not effectively benefited during the course process.
