Özet
In the study “Turkish Lexicography,” an overview of the historical development of Turkish lexicography and the dictionaries from various periods is provided. It begins with a discussion of the initial conditions in the field of Turkish dictionaries and presents the first examples of Turkish lexicography. The study also highlights lexicographical schools that were influenced by Turkish practices. Subsequently, it details the general characteristics of the Harezm-Kipchak, Chagatai, and Anatolian fields. The narrative then shifts to dictionary studies during the Ottoman period. As the study approaches its conclusion, it focuses on modern advancements, particularly those during the Republic of Türkiye period. In the final sections, it summarizes contemporary dictionary examples and theoretical studies in Turkish lexicography.
