This study examines the representation of Syrian asylum seeker women in the Turkish Press. In this context, news coverage about Syrian women published in Cumhuriyet, Hurriyet, Sabah, Sozcu and Turkiye newspapers, which differ in terms of their political stances, were analyzed. The study focuses on the news published between April 2011, when the Syrians started entering Turkey, and the end of the year 2018. The news were collected from the database of PRNet, by using the keyword "Syrian women". The study seeks to analyze the perspective of the Turkish Press towards Syrian refugee women migrated to Turkey during the Syrian Civil War and to present the issues about these women. The research problem focuses on how the Syrian refugee women are represented in the Turkish press. The method of the study is quantitative and qualitative content analysis. The findings of the study illustrate that the general perspective of the Turkish print media on Syrian refugee women is positive and balanced, but the press coverage shows some similarities to the international stereotypes produced for "refugee" and "female" in terms of representation characteristics. Besides, the political stances of the newspapers are manifested in the context of news coverage either as government criticism or praise according to the political positions of newspapers.
