Özet

The aim of this study is to examine academical field experts's opinions in depth and developing “Open and Distance Learning” course for Education Faculties Teacher Training Programs updated in 2018. The sample of the study is prepared criterion sampling method which is one of the purposive sample types. The current study included eleven academican who are studying about open and distance learning field. Descriptive research study a special case of the method was used. A semi-structured interview form developed by researchers was used as data collection tool in the study. The negotiations made are recorded with the digital sound recorder and then written to the article. The obtained data were subjected to content analysis with a qualitative approach. At the end of the research, experts reported teacher competencies, course implementation and systematic views on the development of the "Open and Distance Learning" course. When the results of the study are examined that the opinions about teacher competencies are composed of two categories as professional skills (ten codes) and personal social skills (three codes). The views of the course consist of five categories: method (two codes), time (one code), requirement (three codes), course instructor (two codes) and course content (five codes). Results show that the open and distance learning course will contribute academically, teachers who can give distance courses will be trained, the negative perception against distance education will break opinions mentioned by the experts are the most stated. What are the opinions about the system (five codes), what is not? (three codes), contribution (two codes) and dissemination (one code).
