Özet

Young children with neurodevelopmental disabilities need more support in protecting their privacy than their peers. The privacy education these children receive at an early age has an important role to play in their safe upbringing. This study aimed to investigate the experiences and opinions of parents and teachers regarding the early privacy education of children with neurodevelopmental disabilities. A phenomenological design was utilised. The research was carried out in & Ccedil;orum, T & uuml;rkiye with 10 teachers and 10 parents. Content analysis was used to analyse the interviews and direct quotations are used to support the results. The findings from the study indicated that parents and teachers of young children with neurodevelopmental disabilities had limited knowledge and skills about privacy education; hence, parents and teachers require good quality privacy education. In particular, parents and teachers need training on what privacy education includes, how to teach it, and how to respond to children when privacy violations occur.
