Abstract
Effective communication between healthcare professionals and patients outside clinical settings plays a pivotal role in enhancing patient engagement, improving adherence to treatment plans, and strengthening health outcomes. With the rise of digital health tools, including mobile apps, patient portals, and video consultations, the boundaries of healthcare communication have expanded well beyond the traditional confines of clinics and hospitals. These evolving methods of interaction represent not just a change in tools but a paradigm shift in how care is conceptualized and delivered. This chapter explores the theoretical, practical, and ethical foundations of communication beyond clinical walls, highlighting key benefits, emerging challenges, and future directions. The aim is to provide healthcare professionals, policymakers, and educators with an evidence-based roadmap to optimize non-clinical communication in the digital age.
