Abstract

Polycoccum teresum is described as new from the thallus of a Xanthoria sp. on siliceous rocks in the western part of Turkey. It is the first known species of Polycoccum on members of Teloschistaceae, having smooth ascospores and thin (c. 1.0 mu m) interascal filaments.
