The lack of scientific research about bassoon reed has prevented the emergence of a standard bassoon reed model, which has made basson education difficult. In the developmental process of the instrument, the individual efforts of producers to develop the instrument, chronological irregularities in the process, the differences in the key mechanism and the fact that few instruments have reached until today have hindered reed production to reach a standard. This situation has reflected on the dimensioning and bassoon reed production techniques, and also it has made it difficult to emerge a standard bassoon reed having a similar character and a balanced vibration until today.
