The artist who brings past into the present offers a chance to the viewer to be the witness of history. Contemporary works which have been produced in plastic arts such as painting, sculpture and ceramics and that have an interaction with traditional expression play roles as means of understanding today. 'Die pattern of tree of life which has been used both symbolically and decoratively from past to present appears a traditional figure in contemporary works. Within the extent of our research, when the symbolic meanings and forms of the tree of life are observed it is seen that it varies from culture to culture. In this variety, the tree of life in Metepec ceramics in Mexico comes to the foreground.
