Water-distilled essential oils from Ajuga chamaepitys subsp. chia var. chia and var. ciliata were analyzed by GC/MS. β-pinene (20.8%) and germacrene D (12.6%), were identified as main components among the 65 compounds characterized in the oil of var. chia. Ninety-one compounds were characterized in the oil of var. ciliata with germacrene D (14.6%) and β-pinene (14.0%) as main constituents. © 1999, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC. All rights reserved.
