Water-distilled essential oils of two chemotypes of Thymus thracicus var. longidens growing in close proximity of each other were analyzed by GC and GC/MS. One chemotype contained geraniol (15.73%), thymol (12.30%), p-cymene (12.17%), γ-terpinene (10.75%) and carvacrol (10.45%) as major constituents, while the oil from the other contained geraniol (47.31%) and geranyl acetate (18.25%) as main components. © 1995 Allured Publishing Corp.
