Abstract

Essential oils obtained by hydrodistillation from fruits of Seseli petraeum M. Bieb. and Seseli andronakii Woron. were analysed by GC and GC-MS. In total, 32 compounds were identified representing 95.7% of the total oil of S. petraeum, and 30 compounds were identified representing 91.5% of the oil of S. andronakii. The main constituents were found to be carotol (20.7%), gamma-terpinene (11.3%), sabinene (9.5%), germacrene D (7.8%) for Seseli petraeum and carotol (52.7%), germacrene D (8.7%) for Seseli andronakii.
