Abstract

ReLearn - Radical Learning: Reimagining Higher Education through Design-Led Inclusion challenges the structural inequities embedded in Irish higher education. The project adopts a design justice methodology that prioritises co-design with, rather than for, affected communities. We bring lived experience of the enduring challenges the workshop addresses: sustaining meaningful participation beyond funding cycles, navigating power and epistemic justice, embedding trauma-informed practice, scaling relational approaches without diluting their integrity, and working across disciplines. We are keen to contribute to collaborative mapping of these challenges across contexts, and to learn from participants working in public sector, healthcare, and civic domains, developing practical, justice-oriented scaffolds for sustainable participation beyond projects.
