Özet

The construction industry has been recognized as one of the most hazardous industries. According to the health and safety statistics in construction, fall from height and equipment related accidents comprise the majority of construction accidents. One of the main factors causing this type of accidents are blind spots which exist in construction equipment and dangerous areas such as slab openings. In this study, a safety system has been developed to prevent accidents caused by blind spots in construction projects. In this system, sensors, RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) and GPS (Global Positioning System) have been used. The system is tested on simulated construction site. Based on the test results, it has been proposed that the system can significantly reduce construction accidents caused by blind spots.
