This paper examines the trust
relationship between parents traveling for family tourism and hotel kids' club
staff. Tourists traveling for family tourism leave their children in kids'
clubs located in child-friendly hotels for both entertainment and learning
during their stay. Therefore, the number and qualifications of staff employed
in kids' clubs, as well as their ability to communicate effectively with
children, are gaining importance. One of the most important qualities that
kids' club staff should possess is trustworthiness. No previous studies in the
literature have examined the trust relationship between kids' club staff and
tourists (parents). Based on this finding, this study examines the trust that
tourist parents place in kids' club staff. The study aims to determine the
effect of parents' cognitive and emotional trust in hotel kids' club staff on
customer satisfaction and intention to recommend. To achieve this objective,
data was collected via survey from parents who benefited from kids' club
services during their hotel stays in Türkiye over the past five years. Simple
and multiple linear regression analyses were used in data analysis. Findings
from the hypotheses testing indicated that emotional trust in staff positively
and significantly affects parental satisfaction and intention to recommend.
Cognitive trust, however, had no effect on parental satisfaction or intention
to recommend. Parents' satisfaction with the service they receive positively
affects their intention to recommend the kids' club. The study's results
highlight the importance of kids' club staff providing trustworthy,
high-quality service to parents.
