Özet

The concept of reading is constantly evolving, diversifying and giving rise to different expansions, depending on variables such as the peculiar characteristics of the era in question, circumstances that evolve over time, cultural differences, advances in technology, the digital era with increasing effect, new formations. It is obvious that visual literacy is vital in terms of ensuring people's access to information and utilizing that information with the visual communication that has continued to increase in power since the first times of human existence and the language of this period is visual. This study explains the concept of reading, visual literacy and its processes, and the scope and expansions of visual literacy. Typography, one of the basic elements of design and creating visual effect, is directly related to reading and visual literacy. This study focuses on typography and visual literacy experience production. Visual literacy and expansions of typography have been explained in the context of the designer's role. The study is important in terms of the sustainability of visual literacy and its dimensions with regards to design, based on the premise that the field of visual literacy is bound to expand on the back of new developments and innovations.
