The Effectiveness of Individual Intervention Based on Reality Therapy in Individuals Under Probation Due to Substance Use

Abstract

The aim of this research is to examine the effectiveness of individual intervention based on reality therapy in individuals under probation due to substance use. While conducting the research using the mixed-method approach, a single-subject experimental design was employed in the research's quantitative dimension and employed a case study was done in its qualitative dimension. Two females and five males participated in the research. It was found that following the experimental intervention, there was a tendency for all participants to experience an increase in the levels of love/belonging, power and entertainment needs, as well as partially meeting freedom needs and increasing internal locus of control and responsibility levels.
