Abstract
This research examines the role of perception (perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use) and individual entrepreneurial characteristics (innovativeness, risk-taking propensity, perseverance, and flexibility) in the adoption of information technology (IT) by female entrepreneurs in Eskişehir within the framework of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). The primary objective of the study is to reveal whether female entrepreneurs diverge from traditional female technology usage patterns (process-orientedness) during their technology adoption processes and to identify which entrepreneurial traits are decisive in IT integration. The research sample consists of 74 female entrepreneurs affiliated with KOSGEB Eskişehir Directorate, the Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce, and Eskişehir KAGİDER. The data obtained were subjected to multiple regression analysis. The findings indicate that perceived usefulness has a direct and decisive effect on female entrepreneurs' technology adoption (β; p < .001$), whereas perceived ease of use does not have a direct effect. Evaluated in terms of entrepreneurial characteristics, innovativeness and risk-taking propensity significantly and positively affect the level of technology adoption R² = 0.59, p < .001), while direct effects of perseverance and flexibility variables could not be detected. The results prove that, unlike general female user profiles, female entrepreneurs adopt a result-oriented and instrumental approach rather than a process-oriented one in their technology adoption decisions.
