Abstract

This study researches the postgraduate theses on human resources management written at Turkish universities and available in the electronic database of Turkish Council of Higher Education. The research has examined 25-year period between 1983 and 2008 and found a total of 2216 postgraduate theses. The data have been analyzed by using content analysis, a method of categorical analysis. The findings have been presented as a determination of the current status. In the first part of the analysis, the theses on human resources management have been categorized according to the dates, universities, institutes and departments in which they were prepared, the language, and subjects. In the second part, the postgraduate theses on human resources management have been categorized as follows: a) Human resources and management, b) The functionality of human resources. In the third part, the postgraduate theses within "the functionality of human resources" category have been sorted into 10 subcategories.
