Abstract

Water distilled essential oils from two Umbelliferae species of Uzbekistan were analyzed by GC/MS. p-Cymene (27.23%), thymol (15.13%) and carvacrol (12.52%) were the main components among the thirty three constituents characterized in the oil of Mediasia macrophylla, representing 95.7% of the total components detected. Five compounds were identified in the oil of Foeniculum vulgare representing 99.8% of the total oil with (E)-anethol (87.33%) as the major constituent. © 1997, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
