Water-distilled essential oil of Origanum micranthum, a rare Turkish endemic, was analyzed by GC and GC/MS. Forty-three components were characterized representing 88.64% of the total components detected. Linalyl acetate (12.34%), cis-sabinene hydrate (10.81%), α-terpineol (9.67%) linalool (8.89%) and terpinen-4-ol (8.73%) were identified as major constituents. © 1996, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
