New ceramic bodies were studied to produce Seger Cones No. 7 (1230 degrees C), No. 8 (1250 degrees C) and No. 9 (1280 degrees C). The new compositions for Seger Cones were prepared from Turkish raw materials. Standard cones were obtained and tests gave good results. Also, the sulfidation, the volatilization of fluxes and ferrous versus ferric oxide were studied.
