Özet

The concepts of youth and beauty, have been the most basic problems of human being for a long time. In the Modern era these problems are being perceived as comsumption subjects which can be possessed, changed and restructured. Youth and beauty are sanctified in many ways throughout the history. These two concepts have been deificated as values from the very begining of human being towards Modern era. However, in our times, youth and beauty are not perceived as only ideals but as aims and goals that can be achieved through varied practices and instutitions. Nearly in the whole media, the ideal body images are presented embeddedly in wannabe fictions and discourses. Among the ways of achieving these ideal images, plastic surgery is presented as leading solution to be applied. Plastic surgery is used as a theme in movies. In these movies, the plastic surgents are generally depicted as people who have extraordinary talents and related to this can realize extraordinary operations. Generally their talents meet their patients'demands. Thus, the perception of plastic surgery as asolution of the problem of elderness is supported by these movies.
