Özet

Memory and space are complex concepts that emerge from distinct perspectives and contexts. Both constitute various aspects of understanding and interaction in the human universe and are also pillars that determine the development of artistic expressions throughout history. In the musical sphere, memory and space play crucial roles in individual and collective creation, performance, and appreciation. They connect with the past and present, allowing the musician to transmit and transmute tradition. This study makes an analytical reflection through selected examples of how the musical memory of the Western tradition has manifested itself in spaces that have been constantly changing over the last three hundred years. The descriptive analysis of literary research in this study, also considered how the agricultural and industrial revolutions shaped the organization of societies, with the purpose of synthesizing and interpreting examples of the intersection of memory, space, and music.
