Abstract

Teamwork is about anticipating the needs of others, being in tune with each other's performance and environmental changes, and having a shared understanding of the situation to achieve the best results. Entrepreneurial orientation is defined as a strategic organizational stance that includes specific processes, practices and activities that enable organizations to create value by engaging in business ventures. It is also defined as “the processes, practices and decision-making activities that lead to a new venture”. In the study conducted by Miller (1983), the sub-dimensions of entrepreneurial orientation were determined under three headings: risk-taking, innovativeness and proactiveness. Risk-taking entails taking bold steps such as entering unknown new markets, allocating a large portion of resources to ventures with uncertain outcomes, or incurring large amounts of debt. Staying ahead of trends instead of following the status quo, seeking new solutions and using information correctly are the requirements of innovation and proactivity. Although the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and team performance and collaboration is limited, some studies show that entrepreneurial orientation can positively affect team cohesion. This study aims to investigate the effect of innovativeness, proactiveness and risk-taking personality traits used to explain the sub-dimensions of ecommerce entrepreneurial orientations on teamwork. The data of the study were obtained from 230 people working for an international company operating on healthy living products. Reliability and factor analyses were performed on the data obtained with SPSS program, and then confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling were performed with AMOS program. As a result of the research, it was concluded that risk-taking personality subdimension has a direct effect on teamwork, while proactive innovative personality structure has no direct effect on teamwork.
