10th International Conference on Education and New Learning Technologies (EDULEARN), Palma, Spain, 2 - 04 July 2018, pp.10029-10033
First academic foundation of basic design education course was laid by Bauhaus School which was founded by Walter Gropius in 1919 in Germany. This course sets off the basis of fine arts education to train creative students in which esthetics and technique are used together. Within the scope of this education, theoretical expressions and practical assignments are given for the emergence of individual ability and creativity. While these practices improve personal awareness of the student, they provide contribution to the dialog between designer and the viewer. These are the absolute requirements for the development of creativity, mental ability and the optical skills. Design principles and design elements form the content of the topics. In this course, which takes a long period of time when compared with other courses (9 hours per week at Anadolu University, Fine Arts Faculty in Turkey) important knowledge are given on subjects like design consciousness, development of creativeness, seeing and awareness. Projects designed during the course show the effective results on the students.
