Dr. Erkan Kurnaz graduated from the university in 2005 in the field of special education. He received his master's degrees in the fields of Applied Behaviour Analysis and Education of Children with Developmental Disabilities, and in 2018, he completed the integrated doctoral program in the field of special education and obtained the title of ‘doctor’. Since 2012, he has been serving as a faculty member at the Institute of Research on Disabilities at Anadolu University.
Dr. Kurnaz focuses on the education of individuals with autism spectrum disorder, the development of executive functions, the effectiveness of early intervention programmes, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and the role of technological applications in special education. In this context, she has participated as a principal investigator and researcher in numerous national and international projects and has published many peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and conference papers in her field.
With a special interest in emerging technology-based educational solutions, Dr. Kurnaz founded OtiMeta Education Software Consulting Inc. in 2024, pioneering the development of digital learning and support platforms for individuals with autism. She also manages the design and development processes of the Afotizma mobile application for children with autism.
He has delivered presentations at national and international conferences on autism education, disaster management, executive functions, and digital learning, and continues his academic work in these areas.
