Mustafa Ağatekin (Edremit,
Balıkesir 1967). Mustafa Ağatekin received his undergraduate degree from the
Department of Ceramics at Anadolu University’s School of Applied Fine Arts in
1991. He completed his graduate studies at the Institute of Social Sciences,
earning a Master’s degree in 1993 and a Proficiency in Art degree in 2003.
Alongside 18 solo exhibitions in Turkey, he has been featured in a wide range
of national and international exhibitions and art events.
Since 2002, Ağatekin has expanded
his ceramic-based practice to explore the possibilities of glass. By blending
these two materials through a self-developed method, he has established a
distinctive artistic language, focusing primarily on glass in his recent
projects. Having received five awards in national competitions, he continues
his academic and artistic career as a faculty member at Anadolu University’s
Glass Department. His works are held in museum collections and private holdings
worldwide.
