Asst. Prof. ÖZGE GÜNCAN

Özge Güncan was admitted to the Piano Department of the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts, Anadolu University in 1993. Throughout her education, she studied with Robert Farkas and appeared at the 4th Young Talents Chamber Music Festival organized by Dokuz Eylül University in İzmir in 2000. In 2001, after winning the Belfort Festival in France, she was invited to perform there. She completed her undergraduate studies with high distinction and pursued her master’s degree in piano under the supervision of Prof. Zöhrab Adıgüzelzade, graduating in 2010.

In 2011, within the framework of TÜBİTAK’s Science and Society Projects Support Program, she composed and performed a children’s song entitled “Orman Biziz, Biz Ormanız” (We Are the Forest) as part of the project of the same name.

Between 2008 and 2017, Güncan performed extensively as part of the piano duo Anadolu Duo with Prof. Lilian Maria Tonella Tüzün. In 2014 and 2015, she was invited as the sole Turkish pianist to the VII and VIII International “We Gather Together” Music Festivals held in Moscow, performing both as a soloist and as a member of the duo. In 2015, she also appeared at the Marsyas International Culture, Art and Music Festival.

In 2016, she was honored with the Art Encouragement Award within the framework of Anadolu University’s Science, Art and Encouragement Awards. In 2017, she collaborated with a chamber ensemble of strings and winds in the Musique Moderne project. In 2022, she received the “Contributors to the City” award from the Eskişehir Civil Local Formation Association, and in 2023 and 2024, she was granted the Article Performance Award by Anadolu University for two consecutive years.

Having completed her Doctorate in Art (Proficiency in Art) in July 2023, Özge Güncan has been serving at the Piano Department of the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts, Anadolu University since 2002. She has trained numerous successful students who have received awards at national and international competitions at the primary, secondary, and undergraduate levels. As of February 2024, she has been appointed as Assistant Professor (Dr.) at Anadolu University.
